I bought a 2011 Jetta and was in and out of the dealership in about an hour. That alone made the purchase a good experience. However, the "shuttle" driver scared the heck out of me, blared his country music and talked incessantly about himself and his views. Next time, I will just sit in the service area to avoid that nightmare. Sales people are great, as are finance and service folks!

 Dealing with Clapp was a delight. We visited them twice before settling down to negotiate. Throughout the entire process, our sales rep--as well as the entire staff--was patient and friendly. We were especially impressed that their main goal seemed to be to get us into the car that suited our needs, rather than something they happened to have on the lot. The purchasing process was a real joy. Their initial bargaining position was fair, so there really was not all that negotiation required. Again, our sales rep was patient and detail oriented. And once we struck a deal, the rest of the staff was friendly and efficient... even to the point of finding us an exceptional loan rate. Dealers of this sort seem to be a dying breed, being replaced by more high pressure and large volume places. To many of us, however, a personal, quality sales and professional staff are still highly valued. Clapp still does things the way they should be done. As the saying goes, you buy a dealership, not just a car. Very satisfied with the customer service we received and the helpfulness of everyone there! Great experience!
